Two Wounded in Sumy Drone Strike, Including a 16-Year-Old.
Russian Occupiers Launch Attacks
According to Novyny.live: On March 18, 2023, Russian forces struck an administrative building in Sumy using unmanned aerial vehicles. The attack left two people injured, among them a 16-year-old teenager. The victims were waiting at a public transport stop when they were hit by debris and shrapnel from the blast.
That same day, Russian troops targeted a locomotive in the Chernihiv region, wounding the train driver and his assistant. This incident unfolded amid escalating tensions in the area, where Russian military units continue to carry out aggressive operations.
Violence Intensifies
On March 17, Russian invaders also struck the Dnipropetrovsk region with drones, artillery, and aerial bombs. These actions highlight a sharp increase in violence by occupation forces.
The communications unit of the Sumy Regional Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support stated that 'Russia's kamikaze drone attacks on territorial recruitment and social support centers are not accidental but a deliberate enemy tactic.'
The events of March 18 in Sumy and other regions underscore the ongoing danger that Russian attacks pose to civilians and infrastructure in Ukraine. The escalation of violence—particularly through the use of drones and artillery—signals a growing threat to areas already devastated by Russian aggression. It is crucial for the international community to monitor these developments and take action to protect civilians in Ukraine.
