Russian Soldiers in Kharkiv Region Bribe Commanders for Transfer to 'Akhmat' Unit to Avoid Frontline Assaults.
Bribery for 'Akhmat' Transfers Among Russian Forces
According to Novyny.live: In the Kharkiv region, Russian occupying forces are reportedly paying bribes to their commanders in exchange for reassignment to 'Akhmat' units, a tactic used to dodge participation in direct assault operations. Muslim soldiers fighting near the Vovchansk direction are pooling money specifically to secure transfers to this unit. After intense battles around Vovchansk, many occupiers are willing to pay significant sums to avoid returning to the front lines.
“They send us to places where people don’t come back. Commanders sell transfers to those who have money. The rest die,” a source within a Russian regiment stated.
Frontline Situation
The situation in the Kharkiv region remains tense. On June 28, Russian forces struck Kharkiv with a drone, hitting the facade of a high-rise building in the Kyivskyi district at the tenth-floor level. Later that night, occupiers targeted two gas stations in the Natalynka community of the Berestyn district using 'Geran-2' attack drones.
Additionally, at around 2:45 a.m., a guided aerial bomb was dropped near the village of Bryhadyrivka in the Izium territorial community. This strike destroyed approximately 0.5 hectares of corn crops. Conditions on the front lines and in rear areas continue to raise concerns and require ongoing monitoring.
These events highlight growing distress among Russian servicemen, who are actively seeking ways to avoid hazardous frontline duties. This trend could create command challenges and erode morale. Such practices may undermine the combat effectiveness of Russian forces, as soldiers' refusal to engage in assaults could slow their offensive operations. Meanwhile, attacks on civilian infrastructure underscore Russia's continued aggressive policies in Ukraine, demanding attention from the international community.
