Renewed Russian Assaults Across Ukraine

According to UATV: On July 14, 2023, Russian forces launched fresh attacks targeting both southern and northern parts of Ukraine, specifically the Odesa, Sumy, and Kherson regions. These bombardments resulted in injuries and significant damage to infrastructure across multiple communities.

In the Sumy region, the Shostka community was hit, leaving one resident wounded. The city of Sumy itself came under attack, damaging an apartment building and a civilian infrastructure site. Meanwhile, in the Odesa region, Russian drones struck civilian and industrial facilities. One enterprise there suffered severe losses, with 12 vehicles destroyed.

In Kherson, a drone struck a civilian car, injuring two people. Across the Kherson region, the attacks claimed three lives and wounded 25 others. A total of 39 settlements in Kherson were targeted within a single day.

Missiles and Drones Deployed

During the night of July 14, the Russian military launched strikes on Ukraine using:

  • eight Iskander-M/S-400 ballistic missiles
  • two Kh-59/69 guided air-launched missiles
  • 135 attack drones (UAVs)

Impacts were recorded at 17 locations.

These attacks highlight the ongoing nature of the conflict in the region and its severe toll on civilians and infrastructure. The sustained and intense shelling points to an escalation of military operations in Ukraine, endangering civilian lives and hindering reconstruction efforts. Such developments are also likely to shape international responses to the conflict and influence continued support for Ukraine from foreign nations.
