Austrian ready to hold talks between Zelenskyy and Putin
Austria is prepared to organize a meeting between the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, and the Russian dictator Vladimir Putin. Austrian Chancellor Christian Stocker stated that Vienna could be a possible location for the meeting, reports Vienna Online.
'Our capital has a long history of dialogue and also provides excellent conditions for cooperation with international organizations based here, especially with the OSCE (Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe — Ed.)', the Chancellor's office explained.
To organize the meeting between Zelenskyy and Putin, the issue of the arrest warrant against Putin, issued by the International Criminal Court, is to be clarified with the court itself.
The possible locations for the summit could include Vienna, Geneva, Rome, or Budapest.
The Swiss Foreign Minister, Ignazio Cassis, had also previously signaled readiness to host a meeting between Zelenskyy and Putin and promised the former immunity from prosecution by the International Criminal Court.
Following the meeting in Washington with President Zelenskyy and European leaders, US President Donald Trump committed to organizing a meeting between the leaders of Ukraine and Russia.
