Axios: Trump promised Zelensky assistance with air defense after failed conversation with Putin.
On Friday, U.S. President Donald Trump promised to help Ukraine in the field of air defense due to rising tensions from Russia. The conversation between Trump and Zelensky took place against the backdrop of deepening conflict in Ukraine, provoked by Russia.
After unsuccessful negotiations between Trump and Putin and increased Russian airstrikes on Ukraine, discussions began regarding air defense supplies for Ukraine at the ministerial level between the U.S. and Germany. Zelensky also confirmed the intention to cooperate with the United States on this issue in order to strengthen Ukraine's air protection.
Thus, the U.S. intends to assist Ukraine in the field of air defense due to the escalation of the situation in the east of the country. This is a response to Russia's actions and helps Ukraine strengthen its defense against potential threats from its eastern neighbor.
