UAF increases funding for battalions: 7 million hryvnias for each unit.
During a meeting of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief's Staff, a decision was made to increase funding for the combat brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for the procurement of necessary equipment. Now each battalion will have a total of 7 million hryvnias at their disposal.
What exactly will this money be spent on?
Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal informed about this on Wednesday, August 12.
According to Shmyhal, the increase in funding will allow combat units to independently meet their needs more effectively.
''Funding will increase depending on the number of battalions performing their combat tasks. Each brigade will receive 7 million hryvnias for each battalion deployed on the front line. This means more drones and other necessary equipment' — the message states.
The minister also noted that in order to implement the decision of the Staff, an operational meeting of the budget committee in the defense department was held, where the issue of redistributing funds to increase financing for the battalions on the front line was discussed.
'The General Staff of the UAF is preparing a list of such units. The goal is to transfer the funds as soon as possible' — the minister added.
It is also worth mentioning that U.S. Vice President Jay D. Vance recently stated that the United States is halting funding for the war in Ukraine.
Previously, Denys Shmyhal reported that Ukraine is increasing investments in drone production and strengthening the Armed Forces.
The decision to increase funding for UAF battalions to procure equipment will enhance the operational effectiveness of combat units and improve their provision with the necessary resources for successful task execution on the front line.
