Ukrzaliznytsia launched free 3000 km: how to get tickets and where to go

According to ТСН: Today, Ukrzaliznytsia announced the launch of a pilot version of the program for free '3000 km around Ukraine'. In just the first hour, over 30,000 Ukrainians took advantage of it, with the most requests for tickets coming from Kharkiv and Zaporizhzhia.

The company notes that the distance of 3000 km is symbolic, as it covers the longest train route from Zaporizhzhia to Uzhhorod and back. Bonus kilometers can be used until the end of 2026.

Program and Restrictions

In the initial phase of the program, free tickets are available only for specific trains, mainly to or from frontline populated areas. Tickets for these routes from other cities can only be purchased for a fee.

In the future, during off-peak periods, Ukrzaliznytsia plans to offer about 250,000 seats per month for passengers who do not focus on travel time and are looking for affordable prices, which would help relieve peak periods.

Who can get a 'free' ticket

Tickets can be issued for oneself or for children who have reached the age of 5, receiving their own '3000 km'. However, tickets for adult relatives or friends cannot be issued. Each participant is entitled to up to four trips, which in total do not exceed three thousand kilometers.

The program only covers travel, while additional services such as bedding, tea, or pet transportation are paid separately.

How to get 'free' tickets

'Free' tickets can be ordered through the updated Ukrzaliznytsia app. The procedure is as follows:

  1. Verify your account through 'Diia.Signature'.

  2. Find the '3000' mark and click 'Take Part' to receive 3000 km for 4 trips.

  3. Select a train with the '3000' mark; during booking, kilometers will automatically be deducted from your account.
