A warehouse with recyclable materials near Odesa was on fire: how rescuers dealt with the flames.
In the morning near Odesa, a significant fire broke out. The flames engulfed a warehouse with recyclable materials, but thanks to the prompt actions of firefighters, the situation was managed.
Incident in the Odesa district
According to reports, the fire started this morning at the 21st kilometer of the Staro-Kyivska road. The fire spread over an area of about 1500 square meters in the warehouse for storing secondary raw materials. Rescuers worked in a tense mode, but managed to prevent the fire from spreading throughout the entire building. The causes and damages of the fire are being investigated.
Mobilization of rescuers
Various units responded quickly to the scene. To fight the fire, 12 units of equipment and 44 firefighters from the State Emergency Service were involved. Volunteers from the Association of Firefighters of Ukraine also assisted — 1 vehicle and three personnel. The National Guard also responded to the call, sending another technical means and four fighters.
The fire on the outskirts of Odesa was notable for the significant area of flames in the warehouse, but thanks to the joint efforts of firefighters and other rescuers, it was possible to contain the spread of fire, avoid casualties, and prevent damage to the entire building. The causes of the fire and the extent of the damage are being established for further investigation.
