Situation in the Pokrovsk direction

According to ТСН: The situation in the Pokrovsk area remains tense and active. Russian units continue to employ a new tactic that includes air cover and infiltration to control the city.

According to the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), Russian troops currently control part of Pokrovsk south of the Donetsk railway. This information is confirmed by both Russian and Ukrainian sources. Analysts note that the front line runs along the northern outskirts of the city.

A senior officer of the Ukrainian brigade in the Pokrovsk direction reported that as of the end of October, Russian forces control about 60% of Pokrovsk's territory.

Furthermore, on November 25, Ukrainian forces conducted successful counterattacks in Rodynske, but later the occupiers managed to regain control of the settlement.

The deputy commander of the Ukrainian battalion confirmed that since November 19, Russian troops have introduced tanks and mortars into Pokrovsk, indicating their deployment of heavy equipment in the region despite Ukraine's attempts to stop them.

Additionally, Russian military forces continue their efforts to breakthrough to Myrnograd, attempting to disrupt the ground lines of communication of Ukrainian troops.

On the eve, the 7th Rapid Reaction Corps of the Air Assault Forces reported that the occupiers may try to close the ground communications between the cities. Accordingly, Ukrainian troops are strengthening their units in Myrnograd to protect the southern outskirts where the occupation forces are concentrated.

Geolocated videos from November 25 show Ukrainian servicemen transporting Russian prisoners of war through the central street of Myrnograd. This may indicate that Russian troops managed to penetrate the city, but do not currently control it properly.

Analysts from the DeepState project also noted the presence of Russian troops near the Pokrovsk railway station, particularly along Peace Avenue.

Roman Pysarenko, the communications department head of the 79th Air Assault Brigade, noted that fierce battles are underway near Myrnograd in Donetsk region. The Russian command has concentrated battalions, regiments, brigades, and effectively an entire army in this section of the front. The military says that in the area of responsibility of the 79th brigade, the occupiers can move 'by meters or tens of meters' only through the so-called 'gray' zone.

In light of these events, it is important to monitor the development of the situation, as control over the Pokrovsk direction determines the significance of strategic lines of communication between Ukrainian troops. The situation remains dynamic, and both sides continue to adapt their tactics in response to changes on the battlefield.
