Materials Handed Over to Law Enforcement Agencies

According to Novyny.live: Ukraine's Parliamentary Commissioner for Human Rights, Dmytro Lubinets, has announced he will transfer documents concerning the 'Skelya' regiment to law enforcement following an official inspection. He reported that the situation triggered a massive surge of complaints from service members alleging rights violations. The inspection of the 'Skelya' regiment took place on June 25 and 26, during which the ombudsman's office received over 30 complaints in a single day. Lubinets stated:

'In one day, we received more than 30 appeals.' - Dmytro Lubinets

Conditions Inside the 'Skelya' Regiment

A total of 25 deaths among new recruits have been recorded in the 'Skelya' regiment, sparking serious concern. The regiment's commander, Yuriy Harkavyi, has been suspended from his duties. The collected evidence will serve as the basis for opening cases within the relevant authorities. Representatives from the Military Prosecutor's Office and the Military Law Enforcement Service are already on-site to investigate the circumstances.

The General Staff has dispatched a large-scale commission to review the situation. After receiving signals of grave rights violations against military personnel, Lubinets reached out to the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) and the Specialized Defense Prosecutor's Office. He further emphasized:

'Such actions are unacceptable under any circumstances.' - Dmytro Lubinets

Meanwhile, regiment representative Andriy Suray confirmed that 'the unit can confirm 25 deaths, not 26.'

Fedir Venislavskyi, a representative of the military command, noted that 'there are no grounds for suspending the Commander-in-Chief over the events in the 'Skelya' regiment.' According to Lubinets, 'all responsible agencies are now conducting an extremely thorough check of the situation.' An investigation is underway to uncover all circumstances and potential violations within the 'Skelya' regiment.

The events at the 'Skelya' regiment have raised deep alarm not only among service members but also across Ukrainian society at large. The deaths of new recruits and the flood of rights-violation complaints point to possible systemic issues within the military framework. This ongoing investigation is critical for ensuring the safety and rights of military personnel, as well as for restoring public trust in Ukraine's military institutions.
