Odesa entrepreneur embezzled 28 million on museum restoration: he faces up to 12 years.
The Odesa entrepreneur decided to 'lighten' the budget of the Kherson Regional Art Museum by an amount exceeding 28 million hryvnias. However, he couldn't achieve this without obstacles. Now he faces up to 12 years in prison.
According to information from the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine, the suspect received a contract for the repair and restoration of the art museum thanks to connections in the regional administration. He is currently accused of inflating prices for work and misappropriating budget funds, which he personally 'sent' to the accounts of various companies.
An investigation has also been initiated with the employees of the Kherson Regional Administration, which has already been forwarded to the NABU
Consequences of the act
The suspect has already been charged under articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, for which he faces from 7 to 12 years of imprisonment and the confiscation of property.
