The Novobavarsky District Court of Kharkiv has issued a verdict regarding a serviceman of the Armed Forces, who set fire to a 'Volkswagen Transport' car. This was the neighbor's car, which greatly annoyed the soldier.

According to the verdict, the accused, while in a state of alcohol intoxication, along with his acquaintance, was strolling through the garage cooperative area. Seeing the parked car that irritated him, he deliberately set fire to the vehicle using flammable liquid.

As a result of the actions of the accused, damage amounting to 184,750 hryvnias was inflicted on the owner of the car.

Case details

During the trial, the accused fully admitted his guilt. The court, taking into account all the circumstances of the case, found him guilty of willful destruction or damage to property and imposed a punishment of five years of imprisonment with a probation period of three years.

It was previously reported that in Kharkiv, a drunken man insulted police officers and struck one of them. For this, he received punishment from the court.

Also, in the Kharkiv region, a local resident who gathered intelligence on the tank units of the Armed Forces was sentenced to seven years of imprisonment. The man transmitted information to the enemy through Telegram channels.
