Bulgaria has provided Ukraine with a third of the weapons from the EU: von der Leyen's statement.
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russia, Bulgaria has provided Ukraine with a third of the total volume of weapons supplied by the European Union. This was stated by the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen during her visit to Bulgaria, reports 'Glavkom' citing BGNES.
Bulgaria's Strong Defense Industry
According to inkorr.com: Von der Leyen emphasized that Bulgaria has a developed defense industry and is the only country in the EU where the largest private employer operates in this field. She noted that the country produces significant volumes of ammunition, explosives, and other types of weapons.
'Bulgaria actively contributes to the defense and security of both Ukraine and Europe... Your sector is a source of national and European pride, for which I thank you,' added the President of the European Commission.
Security Guarantees for Ukraine
Let us remind you that Western partners from the 'Coalition of the Resolute' are discussing security issues for Ukraine, including the possibility of creating a 'no-fly zone' and a patrol mission in the Black Sea. This is reported by The Telegraph, citing comments from more than ten representatives of Western countries.
This support indicates Bulgaria's important role in ensuring the defense and security of Ukraine, highlighting its key place in the stability strategy at both the national and European levels.
