British woman sentenced to 6 years in prison over cocaine case: details of plea deal.
Reduced sentence for British woman detained with cocaine in the USA
According to The Sun: 29-year-old Kim Hall, who faced 60 years in prison in the USA for smuggling cocaine worth £15 million, will soon return home after reaching a plea agreement.
The woman was detained at Chicago O’Hare International Airport with two suitcases containing 43 kg of Class A drugs.

Initially charged with drug possession with intent to distribute, she pleaded guilty and received a 6-year prison sentence, of which she will spend half the time behind bars.
Kim's family is very happy with the news of the reduced sentence. Her father John, 60, said: “We are on cloud nine. We consider ourselves luckier than winning the lottery.”
“She is not a criminal and has never been one,” he added.
John also noted that the family is still worried about what prison Kim will be serving her sentence in, but at least now she only has to endure two years instead of 60.
Kim, who is from Middlesbrough, previously stated that she was forced to take the suitcases from Cancun by two British men.
“One of them pulled me by my hair from bed and held a gun to my head.”
When Kim arrived in Chicago on August 18, customs officers discovered the drugs during a random check.
“I would have never agreed to transport drugs. I am not a drug trafficker,” she assured.
Kim was fully aware of the situation when asked to contact her parents: “I was in a panic, barely able to breathe. It was like being in a fog, I wondered if this was really happening to me again in my life?”

Kim Hall will return home, but her story leaves many questions. Was she truly a victim of circumstances, or just an actress in her own misfortune? This case may serve as a lesson for many, as even in ordinary life people can find themselves in dangerous situations. It is important to consider the risks involved in traveling, especially to foreign countries. Read also
