British Commentator Detained in the USA: What We Know About Border Arrests.
Detention of British Commentator in the USA
According to The Sun: A British commentator, Sami Hamdi, the CEO of the risk and intelligence company The International Interest, was detained in the USA. This happened ahead of his scheduled lecture in Florida. Hamdi was supposed to speak at the event of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) on Sunday, but his visa was revoked due to his detention.
“I don’t understand why this happened,” he noted.
Sami Hamdi stated that he learned about the visa cancellation upon arriving at the airport and remarked that the whole situation seems quite strange.
This detention has sparked outrage in the international community, as Hamdi is a well-known figure in his field. The lack of explanations from American authorities only heightens concerns regarding human rights and freedom of speech. The situation surrounding this incident continues to be discussed, as it raises questions about the transparency of the American visa system.
