The airline already operates flights from the UK to India, including routes to Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Chennai.

The new flight will open up even more opportunities for Brits planning to visit this famous city.

“Our ties with India were established over 100 years ago, and about 2500 British Airways employees currently work in India,” said company head Sean Doyle.

“We are gradually increasing our capacity between the UK and India. Currently, we operate 56 direct flights to five Indian cities weekly,” he added.

Delhi is one of the most populous cities in the world, and it is also a popular destination for Brits exploring the Golden Triangle.

Additionally, Delhi has been recognized as one of the best cultural cities according to Tripadvisor’s Travellers‘ Choice Awards 2025.

This city is also in demand among tourists - earlier this year, the Postal Service named it one of the best for long-distance travel based on price.

Delhi made it into the top 10, second only to Sri Lanka and Japan.

The study covered 10 different items commonly purchased during vacations, from cans of Coca-Cola to sunscreen.

The average vacation cost in Delhi was £85.89.

Experiences on a Train Journey in India

Our week-long journey on the luxurious Maharajas' Express began with a red carpet, floral garlands, and musical welcome in Delhi, where we boarded the train, each cabin featuring a bathroom.

Feeling like Maharajas, we dined in an elegant restaurant car with white tablecloths and golden cutlery.

This journey is a dream, not cheap, but an amazing way to see India, where the dirt, noise, and chaos of the cities starkly contrasts with the calm and luxury aboard the train.

After a few glasses of wine and a nightcap in the Safari Bar, I lay down to sleep.

The train's movement was quite jolting, and I thought I wouldn’t be able to sleep.

The next morning my butler knocked to wake me up with tea for our morning visit to the Taj Mahal.

This iconic monument in honor of a beloved wife always impresses with its serene beauty and touching love story.

Now Brits can more easily visit India thanks to new rules allowing tourists to obtain an electronic visa before departure.

BA currently operates flights to five Indian cities from the UK.

The expansion of routes to Delhi reflects the growing popularity of India among British tourists. With new flights and simplified visa procedures, more people will be able to take advantage of this opportunity to explore India's culture and sights.

Given the positive feedback about Delhi on international platforms, further growth in tourist interest in this amazing city can be expected in the coming years.
