According to Novyny.live: On March 18, Kyrylo Budanov, head of the Presidential Office, convened a meeting with officials from the Ministry of Veterans Affairs and leaders of regional military administrations. The primary focus was on broadening social assistance for veterans and their families.
The discussion highlighted challenges in providing housing for veterans and the families of fallen Heroes.
“We reviewed the issues surrounding housing for veterans and the families of Ukraine’s fallen Heroes in the capital and regions. This is a critical matter that demands coordination among all relevant and responsible government bodies,” Budanov stated.He also stressed the importance of helping veterans transition to civilian life, a key step for their full reintegration into society.
Support for Veterans and Their Families
Budanov emphasized the need to increase local budget allocations for veteran policies.
“Every individual who has fought for the freedom of the Ukrainian nation and continues to defend the country must receive dignified support from the state,” he underscored.The meeting also addressed policies on remembrance and honoring fallen defenders.
A significant topic was the number of Ukrainians who have returned from Russian Federation captivity, which has exceeded 8,000 people. Budanov suggested that many worthy and experienced individuals who fought for Ukraine could contribute to their communities by taking roles in local government bodies.
