Budanov States Key Condition for Ukraine: Halting Hostilities.
Kyrylo Budanov’s Perspective on Kremlin Aggression
According to Novyny.live: Speaking at the international 'Security Architecture' forum, Kyrylo Budanov, head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, shared his views on Kremlin aggression and Russia’s economic struggles. He stressed that ending combat operations is essential for stabilizing Ukraine and warned that a lack of international commitments could turn the country into a 'gray zone.'
Budanov highlighted several negative consequences for Moscow, including:
- strikes on oil refineries
- high inflation
- recession
- labor shortages
He is convinced these factors are significantly impacting Russia’s economic situation.
“We need the fighting to stop. How we achieve that, in principle, does not matter. The important thing is that we get there,” Budanov stated.
Psychological Pressure on the Russian Population
Additionally, he believes that even routine military events—such as drone flyovers and explosions—create psychological strain on the Russian populace.
“When they just see drones flying, air defense systems in action, explosions in the sky, windows shaking, glass shattering—that’s a problem for them,” he added.
Budanov also expressed the view that Western sanctions are not a catastrophe for the Kremlin, and he doubts the possibility of a rebellion among Russians driven by poverty. This reflects his skepticism about Russia’s internal political situation and his determination to find pathways to peace in the region.
Budanov’s address at the 'Security Architecture' forum underscores the importance of international support for Ukraine and illustrates how Russia’s domestic issues may shape its foreign policy. His remarks on the psychological toll of military actions on the Russian population point to potential social consequences that could influence future moves by both sides. This also highlights the need for international dialogue to achieve regional stability.
