Winter in Ukraine Without Severe Frosts: Forecasters Talked About the Anomaly.
Weather Forecast for December in Ukraine
According to ТСН: There will be no severe frosts in Ukraine this December. In most regions, winter will start with abnormally warm weather, and a significant drop in temperature is only possible at the end of the month.
Forecaster Ihor Kibalchyk explained that the situation in the Atlantic-European sector will contribute to warm conditions for most countries, including Ukraine. An increased average air temperature, frequent fogs, gusty winds, and many cloudy days are expected.
"Abnormally warm and fairly stable weather will prevail in Ukraine, and the average monthly temperature indicators will exceed the norm by 1-3°C. In most regions, a lack of precipitation is forecasted, with the predominant part being rain and drizzle"
In the first decade of December, mild weather with a small amount of precipitation will remain. The air temperature will be consistently above normal and will exceed 0°C in all regions.
"In the near future, residents of our country should not expect the onset of meteorological winter (that is, a period of stable frosts). Small frosts may occur at night, but the average daily temperature will remain positive"
The second decade of the month will be marked by a powerful anticyclone over Eastern Europe and the Urals, which will lead to further temperature increases. The establishment of a stable snow cover is not anticipated.
In the third decade, the temperature will begin to gradually approach the average norm. In many regions, small frosts and precipitation, primarily in the form of wet snow, occasionally mixed with rain, will already be observed. In the south and in Transcarpathia, high temperatures and the continuation of meteorological autumn are expected.
Forecasters from the 'Ukrhydrometcenter' report that the average monthly temperature will fluctuate from -3°C to +5°C, which is 2°C above the norm.
Forecaster Vitaliy Postryhany also drew attention to the temperature anomaly at the beginning of winter. This warmth resembles the weather at the beginning of October more. The average daily temperature exceeds the norm, and the water temperature in the Dnieper reached 8°C, which is the highest indicator for this period ever recorded.
Thus, December promises to be significantly warmer than usual, which may affect agricultural and energy needs. Despite the lack of severe frosts, it is important to monitor temperature fluctuations, especially at the end of the month when the weather may change.
