Egg prices are set to soar: expert predicts additional price hikes ahead of Easter.
Egg prices may rise ahead of Easter
According to recent forecasts, egg prices in Ukraine are expected to increase ahead of Easter due to rising demand. Denys Marchuk, Deputy Head of the All-Ukrainian Agrarian Council, stated that prices could rise by 10% over the next few weeks.
The agrarian expert explains this as a seasonal factor affecting demand. It is also noted that egg prices have already increased by 30% over the year due to rising costs of grain and heating expenses for poultry houses.
"We are already witnessing a seasonal factor that shapes demand, and it has the potential to further impact egg prices," Marchuk stated.
However, farmers predict that after Easter, prices may decrease. As demand decreases and weather conditions improve, hens will begin to lay more eggs, which will ensure a greater supply in the market. As a result, prices are expected to drop by 20-25% compared to the current level.
