Prices for citrus fruits changed noticeably in January: how much do oranges and mandarins cost.
Prices for citrus fruits decreased at the beginning of January, according to data from the Minfin portal. In particular, the price drop is noticeable in the case of regular oranges and oranges from Egypt. The price of regular oranges decreased from 71.35 UAH to 58.95 UAH per kilogram, which is good news for consumers. The price for Egyptian oranges also fell from 64.52 UAH to 54.90 UAH per kilogram. However, premium varieties of oranges became more expensive, rising from 80.81 UAH to 87.65 UAH per kilogram.
As for mandarins, the situation was ambiguous. The average price for regular mandarins remained almost unchanged, but Spanish mandarins became cheaper, while clementine mandarins turned out to be more expensive.
Thus, overall, at the beginning of the year, prices for most popular varieties of oranges decreased, while prices for mandarins remained stable or rose slightly.
