The analytical platform EastFruit reports that potato prices in Ukraine have significantly decreased.
Prices for this vegetable, which is a staple food for many Ukrainians, are important for the economic life of the country. Therefore, the decrease in prices is good news for buyers.
According to analysts, wholesale potato prices in Ukraine have dropped by 14% over the past week and now range from 13 to 23 hryvnias per kilogram.
The decrease in prices occurred due to an oversupply. On one hand, this is related to the import of potatoes, particularly from Poland, and on the other hand, internal stocks that quickly spoil during storage.
Despite the fact that current prices are 28% higher than in April 2024, producers warn of a potential further decrease in prices due to market saturation with products.
