Meat prices have outpaced inflation: how much Ukrainians will pay for chicken, pork, and beef.

The Ukrainian meat market has experienced a significant increase in prices, exceeding the rate of inflation. Experts point to several reasons for this phenomenon, but chicken meat is becoming the most expensive.

'The price of chicken meat has risen sharply. Chicken fillet has become 11% more expensive, costing 222 hryvnias per kilogram, which is 39% more than last year,' experts explain.

Beef prices have also surged. Goulash has risen by 6% in just a month and now costs 336 hryvnias per kilogram. As for the pork neck, prices remained stable at 330 UAH/kg in June, but have increased by 31% over the year.

Reasons for price increase

Experts partially explain the rapid rise in chicken meat prices by the increased costs of feed for poultry, while the rise in beef prices is attributed to the limited supply of this type of meat on the market.

The rise in meat prices in Ukraine has led to a significant burden on consumers, who are now spending more on meat purchases. The sharp increase in chicken meat prices may also impact the country's economy through decreased consumer activity.
