Vegetable Prices Decreased in May
Supermarkets have updated prices for popular vegetables in May, which is good news for consumers. According to data from the Minfin portal, with the arrival of May, long-awaited seasonal vegetables have appeared on store shelves at more affordable prices. The May price drop for cucumbers and tomatoes allows shoppers to enjoy fresh products without significant expenses to the budget.
According to current data, prices for cucumbers have nearly halved compared to April. While in April the average price for smooth cucumbers was 128.69 UAH per kilogram, now they can be purchased on average for 71.93 UAH.
Especially attractive offers are observed in the Metro chain, where the prices for cucumbers are very appealing. Other types of cucumbers have also become cheaper, making them more accessible to a wide range of consumers. Tomato prices also showed positive dynamics, decreasing to acceptable levels in May compared to the previous month.
Looking to the Future
Previously, forecasts were made about what vegetable and fruit prices would be in 2025, but now consumers are given the opportunity to enjoy fresh vegetables at more affordable prices right now. Seasonal discounts make the diet more diverse and help save money on purchases.
