Misleading Price Tags at ATB: What Shoppers Should Watch Out For.
Pricing Issues in ATB Supermarkets
According to Novyny.live: ATB supermarkets are facing problems with price tags and discounts that can confuse customers. Instead of a single price, tags often display three different amounts: the standard price, the current discounted price, and the lowest price that appears only when scanning the mobile app. This setup can leave shoppers unsure about which amount they actually need to pay.
In some cases, a price tag may even show zero hryvnias, which can be misleading. Such situations complicate the shopping experience, as customers may not know whether an item is free or what its real cost is.
Recommendations for Better Service
When it comes to scanning items at the checkout, cashiers at ATB advise customers to place weighed goods either first or last to avoid delays. An ATB employee explained:
“Fruits and vegetables at ATB are scanned using codes at the register. If they are placed in the middle or at the end, it slows down our scanning speed and is inconvenient.”
This shows that organizing items on the checkout belt can significantly affect service speed. Additionally, Ukraine has specific rounding rules for cash payments, which can further complicate matters at the register—especially if shoppers are unfamiliar with these regulations.
All of this highlights that pricing and discount practices at ATB supermarkets require more attention from both the company and its customers.
This situation underscores the importance of transparent pricing in supermarkets, as price confusion can not only frustrate shoppers but also impact their loyalty to the brand. Clear communication about current prices and discounts will be key to improving service and strengthening trust in the ATB chain. At the same time, training cashiers and optimizing checkout processes can greatly enhance service speed, which is another crucial factor for customers.
