A Swedish rapper was shot dead in Costa del Sol: police detained a suspect.
The murder of a Swedish rapper in Costa del Sol
According to The Sun: A Swedish rapper was shot dead in a daylight armed attack in Costa del Sol. 25-year-old Hamza Karimi, known by his stage name Hamko, was smoking a cigarette outside a cafe when the assailant emerged from a car and shot him at close range.
SolarPixAuthorities are investigating the possibility of a connection between this murder and organized crime. Hamko was a former friend of another Swedish rapper Einar, who was shot near Stockholm a week before testimony in his kidnapping case in 2020. It is said that there was a dispute between them shortly before Einar's death.
The attack in Puerto Banus was captured on surveillance cameras. The video shows a man wearing a baseball cap exiting a black van, allegedly disguised as a tourist, and pulling out a weapon. He approaches the cafe and shoots the victim, who was standing and smoking, from close range.
Hamza, dressed in a blue t-shirt, tries to escape by rolling away, but the attacker continues to shoot, inflicting multiple wounds. More than ten bullets were fired, seven of which hit Hamza.
At the time of the attack, the terrace was empty; however, several tourists heard the gunshots and rushed for cover.
Hamza was quickly taken to the hospital but died a few hours later, despite the medical efforts.
Authorities detained a 38-year-old man suspected of the murder. He reportedly holds a Swedish passport, and according to reports, his origins are Afghan. He was caught after witnesses recorded the license plate of his vehicle, and police set up checkpoints to intercept.
The operation to detain him, dubbed 'Operation Cage', involved all available police officers. The Udyco service, which combats drugs and organized crime in Costa del Sol, took over the investigation.
The National Police press service confirmed: “We can confirm that a 38-year-old man has been arrested for the murder of another man in Puerto Banus.”
In recent years, shootings in Puerto Banus and surrounding areas have led to significant police actions, including raids on elite clubs. Local residents have repeatedly expressed criticism, pointing out that the port area has become reminiscent of the 'Wild West'.
SolarpixThis tragic event has drawn attention to the growing crime problem in Costa del Sol, particularly among the youth pursuing a music career. Experts believe that such shootings may have far-reaching consequences for the rap scene in Sweden and beyond.
