Some Ukrainians will have their electricity tariff reassessed.
The government of Ukraine has made changes to the electricity heating tariff system for the population. Now, consumers using electric heating systems will pay the full tariff only for the electricity they consume above 2 thousand kilowatt-hours. For the rest of the consumed electricity, a preferential tariff of 2.64 hryvnias will apply.
'To correct this, a resolution was adopted to differentiate the preferential tariff through the PSO mechanism,' said Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal. According to him, this decision is part of comprehensive support for Ukrainians, which will be in effect during the winter period and after its completion.
It should be noted that during the heating season, the state maintains the overall electricity tariff for the population at 4.32 hryvnias per kilowatt-hour.
Previously, the preferential tariff of 2.64 hryvnias was only applicable to consumers who consumed up to 2 thousand kilowatt-hours of electricity per month.
Earlier, Shmyhal announced the launch of a subsidy program for housing rent for internally displaced persons.
