In her column for The Wall Street Journal, Rollins also stated that the Department of Agriculture plans to simplify the ability to keep chickens in backyards. She developed a five-step plan to reduce egg prices.
Recently, egg prices in the USA have reached record levels, and in some regions, the price for ten eggs is no less than $10. The main reason for the rising prices is considered to be the avian flu, which has killed many chickens. To prevent the spread of the infection, poultry farmers had to cull even more birds.
It is expected that by the end of 2025, egg prices in the USA will rise by 41.1%. The U.S. Department of Agriculture will allocate a billion dollars to combat the egg shortage that has led to price increases.
