Briefing by Naftogaz of Ukraine and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

According to Novyny.live: Representatives from 31 foreign countries, including those from the G7, attended a briefing hosted jointly by Naftogaz of Ukraine and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The session focused on Russian attacks targeting the Druzhba oil pipeline and their consequences. Attendees were presented with detailed evidence outlining the nature of the strikes and the resulting damage. This initiative is part of Ukraine’s broader effort to keep the international community informed about threats to its critical energy infrastructure.

Current State of the Druzhba Pipeline

A Hungarian delegation arrived in Ukraine on March 11 to inspect the condition of the Druzhba pipeline. Gábor Czepek, Hungary’s State Secretary for Energy, confirmed that the visit aimed to assess the infrastructure situation. However, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated he was not aware of the specific purpose behind the Hungarian delegation’s trip. Ukraine’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that the visit had been postponed due to scheduling issues deemed unacceptable.

The situation surrounding the Druzhba pipeline remains challenging. Serhii Koretskyi, a representative of Naftogaz of Ukraine, stated:

“We presented comprehensive materials on the nature of the attack and its consequences.”
He further emphasized that
“restoring such infrastructure is a complex technological process that requires time, specialized equipment, and work under constant threats of repeated Russian strikes.”
Naftogaz, in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, continues to update international partners on the impact of Russian attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure and the progress of restoration efforts.

The discussion of Russian strikes on the Druzhba pipeline highlights the significant challenges Ukraine faces in maintaining energy security. Engaging with international partners, particularly G7 nations, is critical for securing support and assistance in rebuilding damaged infrastructure. The Hungarian delegation’s visit may reflect growing concern among neighboring countries about the stability of regional energy supplies, a matter that has become especially urgent amid ongoing armed conflict and economic pressures.
