Odessa Company Director Fined for Collaborationist Crime Over Business in Crimea.
Guilty Plea Entered by Director of 'DONMAR' LLC
According to Novyny.live: The director of an Odessa-based company has been convicted of collaborationist activity for conducting business in occupied Crimea and has been fined. The verdict concerns the director of DONMAR LLC, who entered into a plea agreement admitting guilt.
Investigation into 'Transship' Company's Operations
Transship LLC, founded in 2008, came under investigation due to its subsidiary, 'TRANSSHIP-AGENT', which was registered in Kerch (the Autonomous Republic of Crimea). Since January 2015, Transship has been re-registered under Russian law. In 2022-2023, the company paid over 690,000 rubles in taxes to the federal budget of Russia.
In the first nine months of 2024, its tax payments exceeded 1.8 million rubles. In total, from May 17, 2023, to April 2024, more than 2.49 million rubles were transferred to the Russian state budget.
The court imposed a fine of 170,000 hryvnias. Additionally, the company was ordered to pay 17,828 hryvnias to cover expert examination costs. The director's actions thus confirm facts of collaboration, as his work supported the economy of the Russian Federation.
This case is part of Ukraine's broader legal campaign against collaboration, which authorities state undermines national sovereignty and funds the aggressor's economy. The director's guilty plea indicates an intensification of law enforcement efforts to investigate business dealings in temporarily occupied territories. Such rulings may serve as a warning to other entrepreneurs about the severe consequences of cooperating with occupation authorities. Since Russia's illegal annexation of Crimea in 2014, Ukrainian law has criminalized economic activity that supports the occupation regime.
