Ukrainian employers are facing a shortage of workers. This compels companies to raise salaries to retain personnel. The situation is particularly challenging in production sectors, blue-collar professions, healthcare, transportation, and logistics.

According to the website Work.ua, at the beginning of 2025, 80.8 thousand vacancies were posted, which is 75.5 thousand more than last year. The platform Robota.ua even has more offers - 97.7 thousand, which is 15 thousand more than last year.

Due to the lack of personnel, companies are reshuffling their priorities. According to a study by GRC.UA, over 50% of businesses are currently focusing on retaining their teams. Additionally, enterprises are increasingly hiring veterans and women for 'male' positions.

The average salary in Ukraine at the beginning of 2025 is 22.5 thousand UAH per month. This is an increase of 18% compared to the previous year. According to data from the State Statistics Service, salaries grew by 22.2% from January to September 2024 compared to the same period in 2023.

The highest salaries, as always, are offered in Kyiv - 26 thousand UAH, which is 10 thousand more than in Sumy. In Lviv, the average salary is 24 thousand UAH, while in Dnipro and Uzhhorod it is 22.5 thousand UAH each.

The demand for remote and hybrid jobs continues to rise. 'The competition for remote positions is several times higher than the average market indicators,' they note at Work.ua. The salary for these jobs has increased by 20% and now amounts to 30 thousand UAH per year.

The highest salaries are earned by top managers and workers in the real estate, transportation, and sales sectors. For instance, the salary of a real estate manager has increased by 69% and amounts to 70 thousand UAH, while a driving school instructor's salary has risen by 56% and amounts to 35 thousand UAH.

There are also more and more military vacancies appearing on the job market. In December 2024, over 7.6 thousand such vacancies were posted on Work.ua. The most popular positions are drivers, shooters, UAV operators, commanders, and medics. The average salary for these positions is 70 thousand UAH.

Experts predict that the shortage of workers will persist in 2025 due to insufficient business adaptation to demographic changes. However, the National Bank warns that companies will only be able to sustain salary growth up to a certain point.
