Another crossing point will start operating on the border with Poland by the end of 2024.
A new crossing point 'Nyzhankovychi - Malchovychi' will be opened at the Ukrainian-Polish border
On December 20, a new automobile crossing point 'Nyzhankovychi - Malchovychi' will be officially opened at the Ukrainian-Polish border. This was reported by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal during a government field meeting.
According to Ukrainian-Polish agreements, a temporary place is currently in operation at this crossing, which can only be used by empty trucks weighing over 7.5 tons.
Tomorrow, the crossing point will be opened for passenger and freight transport, while pedestrian passage will begin after the necessary infrastructure is built.
For instance, Shmyhal noted that the new crossing point will distribute the load on existing borders and expand export opportunities for Ukraine.
This crossing point is located in the Sambir district of the Lviv region.
It is worth reminding that in 2020, the Polish government allocated 31 million zlotys for the arrangement of the border with Ukraine in Malchovychi.
“With the launch of the new crossing, several hundred well-paid jobs will be created, the border area will develop, trade will grow, and transport will evolve,” noted the Deputy Marshal of the Subcarpathian Voivodeship, Piotr Pilch.
In February 2024, it was reported that the construction is nearing completion.
