Every day at 9 a.m., Ukrainians honor the memory of all those whose lives were lost in the Russian-Ukrainian war. Today we remember Oleksiy Makharinov.

Ukraine honors the memory of Oleksiy Makharinov, a defender who died on December 29, 2024, in Donetsk. This was reported by the Lviv City Council.

Oleksiy Makharinov was born on May 23, 1986, in the city of Berdiansk, Zaporizhzhia Oblast. He graduated from vocational school and worked in a metal processing plant. In the last years of his life, he was an active member of the charitable organization 'Community of Mutual Aid 'Oselya' in Lviv.

Oleksiy Makharinov joined the organization during a difficult Time in his life and became a true helper for the needy. He worked in all areas of the charitable organization and always took care of the homeless in Lviv. He was also a good cook.

After the beginning of the Russian-Ukrainian war, Makharinov joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine and became part of the 155th separate mechanized brigade named after Anna Kyjivska. He participated in fighting in the Donetsk direction.

The funeral took place on January 27 at the Garrison Church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul. The warrior was buried at the Lychakiv Cemetery.

Oleksiy Makharinov left behind a son, friends, and colleagues.
