A Plea to Safeguard the Ukraine-Poland Partnership

According to Novyny.live: Aleksander Kwaśniewski, who once served as Poland's president, has urged both nations to protect their bilateral ties and voiced concern about these relations being handed over to extremists. He delivered these remarks during the YES Dinner Discussion held in Gdańsk. Kwaśniewski emphasized that

“it is our duty to address today’s challenges and build a better future”
.

His appeal comes in the wake of a recent move by Polish President Karol Nawrocki, who on June 19 stripped Volodymyr Zelensky of the Order of the White Eagle. That decision followed the naming of a Ukrainian Armed Forces unit after the 'Heroes of the UPA.' By June 23, Poland had received the returned medal from Zelensky.

The Urgent Need for Constructive Dialogue

Kwaśniewski further warned that

“this path leads to repeating all the mistakes of the past”
. His words underscore the critical importance of maintaining a constructive dialogue between the two countries, especially amid current geopolitical pressures. For Kwaśniewski, preserving strong Ukraine-Poland relations is essential for the well-being of both nations.

This statement highlights the pressing need to keep ties stable between Ukraine and Poland despite rising political tensions. The relationship between these countries matters not only for bilateral cooperation but also for regional security in a time of instability across Europe. Reviving constructive talks could prove key to resolving existing conflicts and fostering mutual development.
