Former Russian Geographic Society Spokesperson Claims Putin's Amphora Discovery and Crane Flight Were Staged.
Dmytro Skorobutov's Remarks
According to Novyny.live: Dmytro Skorobutov, the former press secretary of the Russian Geographical Society, has shared his perspective on several publicized events involving Vladimir Putin, including the discovery of ancient amphorae and a flight with cranes. According to him, these events were carefully orchestrated productions aimed at shaping the president's public image.
Skorobutov asserts that the discovery of the ancient amphorae was prearranged. He noted that
'the amphorae for Putin were placed on the seabed in advance. They were museum pieces. They were taken from a museum, laid on a shallow, and then Putin heroically found them.'This statement underscores that the event was not spontaneous but meticulously staged for publicity.
The Motorized Paraglider Flight
Another example highlighted by Skorobutov is Putin's 2012 motorized paraglider flight alongside cranes. According to reports, during the landing, Putin sustained a back injury.
'When the paraglider landed, it did not go smoothly. Putin injured his back, and since then, as far as I know, that has been his primary health issue.'- Skorobutov said.
Following the injury, Skorobutov claims, Putin stopped participating in physically demanding public events. This suggests that the president's health may have significantly impacted his public engagements and involvement in such activities. Thus, Skorobutov offers a fresh perspective on the president's public stunts, which he believes were more premeditated than spontaneous.
Skorobutov's comments underscore the importance of critically analyzing high-profile public appearances by top officials, as such events may be designed to cultivate a specific image. According to Skorobutov, the president's health condition could also substantially influence his public activity, a crucial factor for understanding his actions and motivations within the political context.
