79-year-old Welshman was accused of attempting to smuggle drugs into Chile after being deceived by scammers into taking a suitcase, being told he won a prize. William 'Billy Boy' Eastment was arrested on May 26 when he was detained at the entrance to Chile with £200,000 worth of methamphetamine in the suitcase.“He really didn't know what he was carrying,”officials noted.According to information, the criminals convinced the man that participating in the contest could be a chance to change his life, but ultimately he found himself entangled in an illegal scheme.The man now faces serious charges that could lead to a lengthy imprisonment.This incident highlights the risks associated with fraud that can affect not only young people but also the elderly. Unfortunately, such situations are becoming increasingly common, and it serves as a reminder of the importance of caution when interacting with strangers or offers.
