Khmelnytskyi Region Endures 16-18 Hour Daily Blackouts.
Power Supply Crisis in Khmelnytskyi Region
According to TSN.ua: The Khmelnytskyi region continues to face a severe electricity crisis, characterized by prolonged blackouts. To cope, critical infrastructure facilities are now relying on backup generators. A system of 4.5 staggered hourly power cut schedules is in effect, resulting in households being without power for an average of 16 to 18 hours each day. These extensive outages are part of a wider national energy emergency stemming from targeted attacks on Ukraine's power grid.
Efforts to maintain essential services are focused on securing backup power. Healthcare facilities in the region are now 100% equipped with generators, ensuring uninterrupted operation. The education sector has received generators for 90% of its institutions, while the social services sector is fully covered at 100%.
Resilience Centers and Outlook
To support residents during the blackouts, 467 'invincibility points' (resilience hubs) have been established across the region. Of these, 85 are currently operational, with 382 prepared to open as needed. The hourly outage schedule is projected to remain in force on January 30, with the expected duration of blackouts holding steady at 16-18 hours. Regional official Serhiy Tyurin confirmed the ongoing severity of the situation.

The regional authorities are taking these measures to sustain critical infrastructure and support the local population's basic needs. The creation of additional resilience hubs provides residents with crucial access to heat, power, and connectivity despite the widespread electricity cuts.
