The head of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, Epiphanius, congratulated the Ukrainian warriors on the feast of the Protection of the Holy Mother of God, the Day of Defenders of Ukraine, and the Day of Ukrainian Cossacks. The video address was published on the metropolitan's Facebook page.

As Epiphanius noted, the courage and resilience of the defenders of Ukraine inspire and give hope for a peaceful future.

“Your service is a manifestation of true love for your neighbors, for Ukraine. Deep respect to you and special words of our gratitude. We pray for each of you – for every defender and defender of the Motherland, for your relatives and comrades”, – he noted.

The metropolitan emphasized that for the Ukrainian people, the defenders are modern-day heroes.

“We prayerfully wish you all God's help, we ask that the Virgin Mary cover you from all evil, and that Archangel Michael and all the saints lead to victory over the enemy and the establishment of peace. Glory to our Lord Jesus Christ, glory to you, our defenders, and glory to Ukraine!“ – added the head of the Orthodox Church.
