Meeting of Ermak with Whitkoff

Today, August 29, in New York, the head of the President's Office Andriy Ermak together with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Serhiy Kyslytsia met with the special representative of the US President Steve Whitkoff. This was reported by FREEДОМ, referring to Ermak's Telegram channel.

Topics of negotiations

Andriy Ermak began the conversation by discussing the recent terrorist attack by Russia, which resulted in the deaths of 23 people, including four children. He emphasized that the Russian Federation is prolonging hostilities and is not fulfilling the necessary conditions for ending the war. Ermak stressed that Ukraine is grateful for all peace initiatives from the US, but their blockade by Russia continues.

"The most important thing is to push for real diplomacy and the implementation of all agreements from the summit in Washington. We are open to direct negotiations at the leader level and are ready to discuss the widest range of issues. We believe that pressure from the international community is necessary for Russia to be ready to genuinely move towards peace and, in particular, hold critically important meetings for peace at the leader level," wrote the head of the President's Office of Ukraine.

Additionally, Andriy Ermak invited special representative Whitkoff to visit Ukraine in the near future.

Reaction from the US

We remind you that the US Embassy in Ukraine condemned the attack by Russia on Kyiv last night, calling on Russia to urgently cease fire on civilian objects, describing such actions as unacceptable.

Stephen Whitkoff's trip to Ukraine will be an important step in forming a joint position regarding further support for our country from the US. In the context of ongoing Russian aggression, such appeals to international partners gain special significance, as global support is the key to returning to peace.
