EU prepares massive increase in ammunition supplies for Ukraine.
EU delivers 2 million artillery shells to Ukraine
The EU's chief diplomat, Kaja Kallas, announced the delivery of 2 million artillery shells to Ukraine by the end of 2025. This will be made possible by a significant increase in military aid from the European Commission. Currently, Ukraine has already received over a million shells, but the goal for this year is to reach 2 million.
The role of the 'Czech initiative' is crucial in providing Ukraine with ammunition, as it facilitates the procurement of shells from around the world. According to reports from Czech Republic, this program supplies artillery ammunition monthly.
Norway has also joined in funding the procurement of shells and has allocated over 400 million euros. These funds will be used through the 'Czech initiative' and the European Peace Facility.
