European Union’s Credit Support for Ukraine
According to Espreso.tv: The European Union is set to release the first tranche of a €3.2 billion loan to Ukraine, timed to coincide with the Recovery Conference scheduled for June 25-26 in Gdańsk. According to a European official, the decision to grant Ukraine this initial installment was made last week.
A second tranche of €5.9 billion is also expected by the end of June. This initial disbursement falls under the macro-financial assistance mechanism.
“We decided to link the release of the first €3.2 billion to the Recovery Conference,” the European official stated.
New Support Package for Ukraine
Additionally, in April 2026, the European Union approved a new support package for Ukraine worth €90 billion, covering the 2026-2027 period. Ukraine is also slated to receive further funds by the end of June, according to the European official.
This credit tranche represents a significant step in bolstering Ukraine amid the crisis challenges it faces. The Recovery Conference, which marks the occasion for the funding, aims to discuss strategies for rebuilding and development, highlighting the EU’s commitment to supporting Ukraine’s stability and economic growth.
