European Union Bolsters Support for Ukraine

According to UATV: During a visit to Kyiv on February 24, 2024, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced a significant expansion of European Union support for Ukraine, encompassing military, financial, and energy aid. This date holds particular significance as it marks the fourth anniversary of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. The EU's commitment comes as Ukraine continues to defend its sovereignty against ongoing aggression.

Since the war began, the European Union has provided Ukraine with over €200 billion in military and financial assistance. Ursula von der Leyen highlighted that a key component of this support is a €90 billion loan, which has already been approved by EU member states. Furthermore, energy sector support includes the allocation of more than €2 billion.

"We can purchase, produce, and provide modern weaponry for the Armed Forces of Ukraine," she emphasized.
