The European Union Sets Quotas on Imports of Agricultural Products from Ukraine

The European Union has decided to temporarily restore quotas on the import of certain agricultural goods from Ukraine. This news was confirmed by a representative of the European Commission through Bloomberg agency.

Starting from June 6, 2025, trade restrictions that were lifted in 2022 due to the outbreak of Russia's war against Ukraine will come into effect.

The EU representative emphasized that the introduction of quotas is a temporary measure as the European Union works on revising the free trade agreement with Ukraine.

These restrictions will remain in place until the end of 2025, and Ukraine will be allowed to export only a portion of the specified volume of products.

During the voting, no EU member state opposed the proposal, but eight countries, including Germany, Sweden, the Czech Republic, Denmark, and Lithuania, abstained from voting.

It is worth noting that Merkel blocks attempts by Trump and Putin to restore the 'Nord Stream'.
