Yevhen Rybchynskyi spoke about conflicts with bandits over EL Kravchuk in the 1990s.
According to ТСН: Ukrainian poet and composer Yevhen Rybchynskyi shared an interesting story from the 1990s concerning EL Kravchuk, criminal authorities, and legal matters.
Conflict with EL Kravchuk
According to Rybchynskyi's account, a misunderstanding occurred in 1997 when EL Kravchuk unexpectedly decided to leave the project and left part of his contractual obligations unfulfilled. He did not appear for the scheduled concerts for which tickets had already been sold.
In an interview with 'Alone', Rybchynskyi stated that since 1994 he had been working with lawyer Andrii Yermak in the field of copyright, and it was during that time they helped EL Kravchuk become an independent artist by creating his legal structure.
'He simply decided to leave. He should have completed the work he started. A series of concerts was planned, but he did not come to the performances, and people had already bought tickets. It was 1997. Yermak and I collaborated since 1994 on copyright issues. Then Andrii (EL Kravchuk - ed. note) decided to go his own way. We helped him create his LLC - International Legal Company. When EL Kravchuk decided to leave, Andrii was already providing his lawyers, meaning his company was servicing the music exchange and this contract. We did well,' Yevhen told Anna Sevastianova.
Investigation Results
It later turned out that influential figures from the criminal world were behind the artist's decision. Rybchynskyi decided to act decisively and, together with Yermak, managed to recover a significant sum from the bandits.
'When we found out who was behind Andrii Kravchuk’s desire to leave, of course, we went to the guys to sort things out. We negotiated firmly. I was quite decisive, as Andrii, being a lawyer, always remained calm. I acted tough, and the bandits paid up. With that amount, you could have bought two apartments in Kyiv at that time,' the star shocked.
Current Relations and Cooperation
Despite past conflicts, Yevhen Rybchynskyi and EL Kravchuk currently have a good relationship. The composer even transferred his repertoire to the artist for free. Rybchynskyi also mentioned Andrii Yermak, noting that their communication had ceased a few years ago.
'It’s a story, but many things connected us. Andrii (EL Kravchuk - ed. note) contacted me last year regarding the songs he sings, where I am the author and co-author. I gave them to him for free so he could continue singing them,' confessed the poet.
This story reflects the complex relationships in the Ukrainian show business of the 1990s, when alongside creativity there was an unavoidable influence from criminal structures. Today, the restored relationships between Rybchynskyi and Kravchuk prove that, despite all difficulties, art can unite and forgive past conflicts.
