According to ITC.ua — Техно: Qualcomm has introduced a feature called AI Frame Fusion for its top-tier Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro processor. This technology uses artificial intelligence to upscale images and generate interpolated frames, unlocking new possibilities for mobile device users. The announcement comes as mobile gaming and video streaming continue to demand ever-higher performance on smartphones.

AI Frame Fusion operates in two main modes:

• the first mode upscales images to 1080p or 1440p;
• the second mode generates an intermediate frame between the current and previous image.

As a result, users can expect smoother and more detailed visuals when watching videos or playing games.

Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro Technical Specifications

The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro (SM8975) will feature an Adreno 850 GPU equipped with two matrix arithmetic logic units (ALUs) to accelerate AI operations. The Adreno 850’s memory is 18 MB of GMEM, compared to 12 MB in the standard Adreno 845 that will be used in the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6.

Additionally, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 has a die size of 12.6 × 10.67 mm and a 2+3+3 core configuration with a peak frequency around 4.8 GHz. The chip also supports both LPDDR5X and LPDDR6 memory.

A Qualcomm X105 modem is integrated into the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6, along with wireless chips WCN8841 and WCN8851 that support Wi-Fi 8.
