European partners will allocate $435 million to improve communication and restore telecommunications in Ukraine
Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov announced that European partners will allocate $435 million to improve communication and restore telecommunications in Ukraine. These funds will be directed to support Lifecell LLC and Datagroup-Volia to ensure the restoration of telecommunications, the purchase of new equipment, and the improvement of internet coverage in the country, as well as the enhancement of mobile communication.
Stable communication is an integral part of a normal life for every person. Despite constant attempts by the enemy to destroy the telecom network, Ukrainians must be able to call emergency services, communicate with relatives, work, and study online. Currently, an important factor for the stable operation of communication is investment.
Recall that the National Center for Operational and Technical Management of Telecommunications Networks updated the operating requirements of mobile operators' base stations under martial law. It was also reported that if a blackout occurs, mobile communication in Ukraine will work for three days. However, due to the mass switch to mobile internet in the event of a power outage, there might be increased load on the mobile operators' networks, which could affect the quality of communication. Therefore, the Ministry of Digital Transformation is working on stabilizing mobile communication during power outages.
