Negotiations with the European Union

According to Novyny.live: The European Union has reached a consensus to launch negotiation clusters for Ukraine's European integration. The first of these clusters is officially scheduled to begin on June 15. On the same day, the second round of the intergovernmental conference between Ukraine and the EU will also take place. This decision marks a significant milestone in Ukraine's path toward joining the European community, as it signals the start of formal discussions on key policy areas.

Ukraine's parliament, the Verkhovna Rada, is preparing to review approximately 100 European integration-related laws, which will be debated and put to a vote. Around one hundred draft bills have already been registered and readied for consideration, reflecting the Ukrainian legislature's active efforts to align with EU standards. Kyiv has secured support from all member states of the intergovernmental bloc, underscoring the importance of this phase for Ukraine's accession process.

Technical Preparations and Support

In addition, Cyprus has begun technical preparations to facilitate Ukraine's European integration, while Hungary has lifted its 17-month veto on the process. Taras Kachka, a member of the Ukrainian delegation, stated that

“this step effectively marks the start of the final stage of integration into the European Union”
and added that
“opening the clusters is the beginning of the ultimate phase of EU accession.”
These developments highlight Ukraine's progress in advancing its European ambitions and the continued backing from EU member states.

The launch of negotiation clusters and the Verkhovna Rada's intensive legislative work underscore Ukraine's serious commitment to European integration. This process not only brings Ukraine closer to EU membership but also reflects growing support from European partners, which could positively influence political and economic reforms within the country. Hungary's decision to withdraw its veto is also crucial, as it may open new avenues for cooperation between Ukraine and the EU. Overall, these events lay the groundwork for further advancements in Ukraine's European integration efforts.
