Denial of boarding due to illness

Former BBC presenter Mark Mardell shared that he felt 'humiliated' when Turkish Airlines did not allow him to board the plane due to his Parkinson's disease. The 68-year-old journalist traveled to Turkey with his son Jake, 32, for a road trip and had no issues during his flight with Wizz Air on October 20.

Problems on the return

However, at the time of his return, Turkish Airlines refused him boarding. Mardell noted that this situation became a major inconvenience for him.
“I was left feeling humiliated. It was incredibly unpleasant,”
he added. This situation raised an important issue regarding the accessibility of air travel for people with certain medical conditions. Mardell's case sparked discussions about how crucial it is to provide support and comfort to all passengers, regardless of their physical state. Publishing such incidents may encourage airlines to review their policies and improve the service for special categories of passengers.
