According to The Sun: Choosing a destination for a long trip can be quite a challenge. But the best flight attendants and pilots from British Airways have shared their favorite places to visit.

Sun Travel spoke to the British Airways crew to find out about the best long-haul destinations.

From wine tasting in South Africa to street food in Bangkok, here are some of the most popular travel spots recommended by British Airways staff.

Bangkok, Thailand

The capital of Thailand is known for its vibrant cultural life and numerous majestic temples.

The temperature in Bangkok ranges from 32°C to 33°C during the day and from 22°C to 25°C at night from October to January, making this city ideal for escaping the rain in the UK.

“You can spend one day at the floating market and the next day exploring the jungle or relaxing on the beach,” said flight attendant Elizabeth Flynn.

She also recommends visiting Wat Arun temple in the Bangkok Yai district for stunning views.

“I always pack a fan, mosquito spray, and comfortable shoes!” she added.

British Airways offers flights from London to Bangkok with returns starting at £599.

Cape Town, South Africa

Located on the Atlantic Ocean coast, Cape Town is famous for its bustling harbor and the island prison where Nelson Mandela was once held.

The temperature in this city ranges from 24°C to 29°C from October to January.

“The weather is fantastic (especially in winter), the food is fresh and local, and the wine is some of the best in the world,” said Eoghan Fitzmaurice, a British Airways guide.

Eoghan also recommends visiting the restaurants NV80 and The Nines, as well as enjoying the sunset at Camps Bay.

British Airways operates flights from London to Cape Town starting at £690.

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Rio de Janeiro, known for its famous Christ the Redeemer statue, has a temperature range of 27°C to 30°C.

“It’s a vibrant and colorful city full of life. I love Copacabana beach at night when it turns into a market,” said Emyr Al Rawazik, BA Cityflyer pilot.

He also noted that the Botafogo area is perfect for shopping with numerous street markets.

British Airways offers tickets for flights from London to Rio de Janeiro starting at £598.

Nassau, Bahamas

Nassau is the capital of the Bahamas, known for its natural beauty and popularity among cruises.

The temperature ranges between 26°C and 31°C from October to January.

“My favorite place to visit is any part of the Caribbean Sea, especially Nassau,” said Nicole Williams, a Heathrow flight attendant.

Nicole recommends visiting Fish Fry, a long row of restaurants offering fresh seafood and burgers.

British Airways has flights from London to Nassau starting at £766.

Mumbai, India

Mumbai, previously known as Bombay, is famous for its three UNESCO World Heritage sites and delicious street food.

The temperature in the city ranges from 29°C to 33°C.

“Every visit feels like a homecoming and a new adventure,” shared Swati Sharma, global-class flight attendant.
