NATO Secretary General names the main obstacle to peace in Ukraine: the reason is Putin.
According to ТСН: The main obstacle to peace in Ukraine remains Russian President Vladimir Putin.
NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte responded to questions regarding the reasons for the prolongation of the war, despite optimistic forecasts at the beginning of the year.
“The reason is Putin,” Rutte briefly noted.
He emphasized that the Russian leader is willing to sacrifice a large number of people without achieving significant military results. Rutte also noted that during this year, Russia has managed to advance less than 1% of the territory of Ukraine, and the losses of the Russian army, according to Alliance estimates, have reached up to 1.1 million dead and wounded.
“This is a horrific number. And yet — almost no strategic gains,” Rutte stressed.
He added that such a position from Vladimir Putin complicates the quick conclusion of the war, which Ukraine and its partners are now forced to reckon with.
It is worth noting that earlier Mark Rutte also answered questions about the chances of Europe and Ukraine getting rid of the dictator Putin. His statements indicate that the international community is closely monitoring the circumstances and continues to support Ukraine in its struggle for peace and stability.
